It seems I've been struck down with a bad case of Blogger's Block, there's not much to write about these days, and there are a lot of loose ends offline that I need to be tying up before I get lazy...
I'm not sure if I've mentioned it here, but the blinds in my kitchen are broken. They're one of those fandangled contraptions where you have to pull down to get them to roll back up -- one night, I noticed a unit in the block opposite me had it's lights on, with an Indian gentleman propped up on his bench, looking directly into my kitchen window. It freaked me out a bit, so I pulled the blinds down. It wouldn't click, so I kept pulling, pulling some more, pulling some more... Fuck. I'd broken it. So I had to take them down. Now I'm blindless in the kitchen, totally free for whatever pervs may want to look in. Gah. I've tried cleaning up late at night, but it seems that's his prime perving time, so now I'm cleaning up as soon as I've put C to bed.
I went to the servo with C yesterday to pick up a few staples, and who should happen to work there but the pervert himself. His name is Arif, and he immediately knew who I was. He asked me if I had just moved into my street, I said yes. He asked what my name was and how old I was while he held my 18+ card, idiot. He said that he knew who I was and that he would wave the next time he noticed me. Great. I don't want to be his #1 buddy, this guy freaks me out. When I trudge up the very steep communal driveway to dump my garbage, he's magically pops out of his unit, leans over his balcony, and watches me. Yuck.
I told M and the MIL about it, and they both agree this guy's a little full-on and that I should get my blinds fixed ASAP. Anyways, I have been kindasortanot befriended by my perv. Just don't be expecting a real-life 'Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down' anytime soon.
The MIL took C again for a couple hours, with M returning her after dinner. I paid rent, did the grocery shopping, made myself beef and blackbean stirfry, and vacuumed, then I put her to bed and sent M on his way. Sadly, I missed Law & Order SVU because I'd conked out shortly after C went down.
I also bought myself some CDs, 'The Beach Boys Classics' selected by Brian Wilson, 'Showbiz' by Muse, and 'Liquid Skin' by Gomez. I'm not too sure why I bought these CDs, since I've been itching to get 'Awake is the New Sleep' by Ben Lee, and 'Songs for Silverman' by Ben Folds. Gah. This always happens to me! I brainfart so badly in music stores, it's ridiculous. I'm kinda working at building my CD collection up from scratch, as the last few years have been extremely nomadic and/or have been chewed up and scratched by the Mung Bean. Now I've got all my futureboxy stuff in my room, my CDs are safe as houses.
